Magsafe Pill Case for epilepsy patients
Industrial Design + Small Batch Production
Developed for individuals living with epilepsy, Pockit transforms life-saving medication compliance from a clinical chore into a seamless part of daily life. By replacing conspicuous, bulky organizers with a discreet, MagSafe-compatible smartphone attachment, the project tackles the vulnerability of missed doses and the social stigma around chronic illness.
Exploration
Pockit is a passion project born out of love and care for individuals living with epilepsy. Regimented medication compliance is life-saving and critical in seizure prevention, yet many obstacles get in the way of scheduled dosing:
School age children and teenagers often misplace their pills and fail to medicate on time
Existing pill cases are generic and oversized, causing them to feel conspicuous and stigmatic
The project was a multi-layered challenge with both technical and social problems to solve. The product needed to be easy to use and blend in harmoniously with daily life, while having a component that attaches itself to the user so it is not easily misplaced or forgotten.
Dozens of iterations were prototyped to deconstruct the design down to the most minimal and effective layout while delivering a refreshing user experience.
Interchangeable dividers cater to varying pill sizes, travel schedule, and leaves room for other personal items such as keys and other small items.
Enhanced Privacy
The top tray serves as a quick-access for credit cards or ID while doubling as a privacy screen to keep pills securely hidden when the case is first opened.
Organization Flexibility
To aid in the soft launch, a small batch of high-fidelity 3D printed units were made and donated to the Epilepsy foundation of Canada. The Pockit has since been in use by members of the epilepsy community and received great feedback.
The final design is a snappy device that is delightful to use and bridges the gap between critical health regimens and everyday lifestyle, empowering users to maintain their schedules with confidence and dignity.

Fine-tuned magnet selection delivers just the right amount of force to keep the case securely closed yet easy to open without compromising Magsafe functionality.
